Florida offers a meaningful discount and waiting-period waiver for couples who complete a premarital preparation course, and exempts out-of-state visitors from the waiting period altogether. Requirements below apply statewide; fees and appointment rules are set by each county’s Clerk of Courts.

Minimum age to marry 18 without restriction; 17-year-olds may marry with written consent from both parents or a legal guardian.
Waiting period 3 days for Florida residents, waivable by completing a state-approved premarital preparation course. Non-residents of Florida are exempt from the waiting period entirely.
License validity 60 days from the date of issuance.
